indelibleBook Description:

After a year of partying, Samantha decides to buckle down and focus on college. Things are going great until a one-night stand leaves her pregnant and alone. Raising a child while going to school isn’t easy, but Sam is determined to be strong for her daughter. She doesn’t have time for guys or relationships, and takes great care to protect her child and her heart.

Judd doesn’t fit the mold of a college ballplayer. His long hair and tattoos may fit the life he’s created for himself, but baseball is the one thing he takes seriously. When he meets Sam, he’s immediately drawn to her curves and refusal to put up with his crap. When Judd learns the truth, can he handle the responsibility that comes with loving a single mother?

Sam yearns for the fire that Judd fuels in her, but her child’s needs have to come first. Can two people at different stages in their life find a way to make a life together?

MY REVIEW:

When I picked this book up, I didn’t know what Indelible meant. It’s not really a word that you use every day. So I looked it up in the dictionary and it said “Permanent, making a mark that cannot be removed.” And then I looked it up in the thesaurus because I love research and learning new words.

I’m probably the only one who didn’t know what it meant!

After reading Indelible, I can see the meaning in the title. It just describes Judd perfectly. I wanted to jump into my kindle and snatch him away for myself. But Samantha deserves him more than I do, so I left him. *sobs*

I absolutely LOVED Indelible, and I read it super-quick. I don’t know if that’s just the way it was formatted, (probably not) but Lopez’s writing just flowed. I couldn’t stop reading! I MAY have stopped for a bag of crisps. And maybe to laugh, but that was it! Literally, couldn’t put it down.

Seeing as I read Freshman Forty a few weeks ago, and that was about a girl who got pregnant in University, I felt like Indelible was a kind of sequel to that. Even though they weren’t written by the same author, and the two authors are very unique in their writing style.

I just thought it was a really sweet novel!

Even though Samantha really loved her daughter, there were a few things about her character that annoyed me. Okay, only two.

  • She ALWAYS had a friend who could help her out at a seconds notice. And she sent ONE message to her friends and they came over right away. Don’t they have a life?
  •  SHE LET HIM GO! That is all. NEVER let the guy you love walk away from you. I found that part extremely frustrating. Can’t tell you what the final outcome is though. NOPE! You won’t hear it from me!

Overall, a perfect summer read with a sweet romance. I would gladly read more books by Bethany Lopez!
