Say When by Tara West  (Something More #1)

Book Links: Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

Publication date: July 19th 2013

Genres: New Adult, Romance

My Rating: 4.0/5.0

Book Description:

He told me to say when, but I can’t. Not with Andrés. It’s so hard to say anything when he’s trailing feather soft kisses down my neck, or when his touch sends hot currents of lust rippling across my skin.

Then there’s the way he smiles and offers soft words of encouragement when I’m creating art, almost like he believes I have talent.

He’s not like any guy I’ve ever met. Not like my ex-fiancée. Not like my father. He’s got me thinking that maybe we can have something more. More than just lust, degradation, and abuse.

And now I’m scared, because that means I’ll have to trust him with more than just my body, but with my heart, too.

MY REVIEW:

Say When is an extremely emotional book, it makes you laugh, it makes you cry, it makes you LOVE.

When I opened it and started reading I thought it was going to be the same sort of book as any other YA/NA romance. But it wasn’t!

It was more serious. And also more desperate.

Say When starts off with Christina breaking up with her boyfriend. She only dated him because her interfering mother set them up. Christina didn’t like the way he treated her, so she got rid of him.

Good call!

One thing leads to another and almost immediately, she meets Andres. A beautiful, Mexican mechanic.  They connect right away and jump into bed together. The sex was steamy, sensual and powerful.

Andres was in the army and has his own demons to face, but when he’s with Christina they fade away and he can sleep at night.

Christina has her own personal problems, but I won’t tell you about them because I think you should find out for yourself. Even if it was a little predictable, it was still emotional reading about it.

The one thing that I didn’t like was that Andres was a little cowardly and didn’t ask Christina a few things before he acted on them. Typical guy! But other than that I loved it!

Overall, this was a short, intense read that I would defiantly read again and recommend to all NA lovers!

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????Book Description:

“Our baby died on prom night, and nothing was ever the same again.”

Corabelle doesn’t feel like any of the other college girls. On what should have been one of the happiest nights of her life, she and her boyfriend Gavin watched a nurse disconnect the ventilator from their seven-day-old baby. During the funeral two days later, Gavin walked out and never returned.

Since then, her life has been a spiral of disasters. The only thing that has helped is her ability to black out whenever the pain gets too hard to bear, a habit that has become an addiction.

When Gavin shows up in her astronomy class four years later, he is hell-bent on getting her back, insisting she forgive him. Corabelle knows she can’t resist the touch that fills the empty ache that has haunted her since he left. But if he learns what she has done, if he follows the trail back through her past, her secrets will destroy their love completely. And once again, she’ll lose the only person who always believed she was innocent.

MY REVIEW:

Words cannot describe just how much I loved this book! It was insane, I literally couldn’t put it down!

Forever Innocent is one of those books that makes you wish they ended up together no matter what happened…LIFE WOULD NOT BE COMPLETE WITHOUT CORABELLA AND GAVIN TOGETHER!

I cried so many times in Forever Innocent. I am now an emotional wreck!

The jist of the story is;

Corabella and Gavin have known each other since they were babies, they lived next door to each other their entire life.

When they where teens, they decided to turn their friendship into something more. Corabella ended up pregnant, but Gavin stayed with her and they planned to get married.

The baby, Finn, came early by two months. He was fine, until they discovered a heart defect. Finn lasted seven days before it was time to turn off the machine that kept him alive.

Gavin stormed out of the funeral and Corabella didn’t see him for four years. During those four years, both of them did things they shouldn’t. But they found each other in a university, studying astronomy.

When Gavin was thinking about Finn and how he would never be a father to him….THE FEELS. RIGHT IN THE GUT. I’m not ashamed to say that I cried. Out loud. Not like, one single tear sweeping prettily down my cheek. I’m talking snotty nose, tissues, and chocolate.

I thought that Forever Innocent was written beautifully and after reading about the author, I realised that something similar happened to her in her life.

Overall, please, please read Forever Innocent. It’s really NOT like all of those NA’s out there. You can feel the magic in this book. Whatever genre you like, pick this book up. You won’t regret it.

Book Description:

To know me is to die…

Seventeen-year-old Mae is convinced that the consequences of her poor decisions have caused the untimely deaths of her dad, sister Laura, and grandma who all die within a year, no matter how ludicrous her thoughts seem to those she loves. The solution? Run away so no one else she cares for gets hurt (even if she has to keep a GPS tracker on her phone at all times).

Desperate to earn her diploma and salvage something of her life, she transfers schools when people get too close. After switching to Woodson Prep with only two months to go until graduation, Mae keeps her goals in sight. But when she meets Ty, the “perfect boy” with his own secrets and a relentless interest in Mae, she must decide if she can stop running from the past and still protect those she loves.

EXCERPT:

“Is this for me?” I ask as Ty stands in the center of the clearing with a yellow rose in one hand.

“No. It’s for that grandma who’ll be passing this area in about ten minutes. I’m just practicing my delivery.” He’s so cute when he’s being sarcastic. I take the rose. In an instant I am shocked back to the day of Laura’s funeral. Everyone in her sixth grade glass brought roses to the cemetery to lay upon her grave, yellow ones, her favorite color. “Why aren’t you smiling?” Ty asks. “Did I do something wrong?”

“N…no.”

“Your hand is shaking,” he says coming over to my side. “Sit down.” He points to the picnic table. “Mae, if you don’t tell me anything I won’t ever be able to help you. I want to help you. I know what it’s like to need help. There’s a lot you don’t know about me, too. And I’m willing to tell you. It’s weird because I hardly know anything about you, but I feel like we’re a lot alike.”

“We’re nothing alike,” I say. I want to tell him. But if I do? Then what? He won’t understand. No one does.

“Is yellow not a good color for brunettes?” he jokes. I can’t help but smile. He takes the rose, breaks off the stem, and tucks it behind my ear. He leans in to smell the rose and kisses my cheek. Only the crunching of sticks from the older couple on the path stops him from reaching my lips.

By Blood by Tracy E. Banghart
Series: By Blood #1
Publication date: February 18th 2013
Genre: YA Paranormal

My Rating: 4.0/5.0

Book Links: Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

Book Description:

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000446_00073]For 17-year-old Emma Wong, spending a summer in England should be a dream come true. Gorgeous scenery? Check. Lots of hot guys with accents? Yes, please.

Throw in an estranged mom, annoying new stepdad, and drooling baby half-brother, and it’s a disaster even her favorite cherry red leather jacket can’t fix. Even worse, there’s (hot) live-in research assistant Josh to contend with. The only thing more embarrassing than   drunk-kissing him hours after they meet? Knowing he’ll be witness to her family’s dysfunction all. summer. long.

But when Emma meets a mysterious girl who happens to be a Druid, her vacation suddenly promises to be far more intriguing than she  anticipated. Powerful rituals, new friends, an intoxicating sense of freedom…and Simon, the sexy foreign stranger she was hoping for. It’s all a perfect distraction from dirty diapers and awkward family dinners.

Trouble is, intriguing doesn’t often mean simple. And Emma is about to discover just how not simple her life really is.

By Blood is a novel about the ways that blood can bind us to others – or tear us apart.

MY REVIEW:

I honestly, really enjoyed reading By Blood! I thought it was highly interesting and captured my imagination like no other book has done for a while.

It took me forever to actually pick this book up, I’m not sure what was so intimidating about it, but once I read past the first few pages I was hooked!

In some parts in By Blood I was a little frustrated with Emma, when she messed Josh about and made stupid decisions. And didn’t want to help out with Fermin, (Vermin haha!). (I LOVE babies!)

I knew from the beginning that Simon was trouble. Never go for the one that tells you he loves you. Rule number one! But seriously, I enjoyed By Blood and would read the sequel.

I would recommend By Blood to readers who love a mix of paranormal and romance  🙂

Before Emma’s adventures in Oxford, her best friend Diana came face-to-face with a killer…Diana Calvert is so over high school. Who cares if Olivia hates her? And David needs to forget about having a crush on her STAT. Even Emma’s crazy fashion choices can’t keep Diana entertained. All she can hope for is a dance scholarship to a college as far away as possible from too-small, too-boring, too-nothing-ever-happens New Freedom, PA.

Then Diana meets Nicholas Woodhaven. He’s pale, angry…yet weirdly charming. The more time they spend together, the more she wonders who – or what – he really is. Because he isn’t anything like the other guys she knows. Not with the whole only-going-out-at-night thing. And living with his creepy aunt. And not going to school.

Just when Diana thinks she’s got Nicholas all figured out, people in her small, nothing-ever-happens town start dying. She has to wonder – can she trust him? And even more alarming – could she be next?

A murder mystery with a paranormal twist, Moon Child is best read under the covers with a flashlight…if you dare!

Title: Not Pretty Enough
Author: Jaimie Admans
Date of Publication: August 1, 2013
Genre: Contemporary YAnot pretty enough
My Rating: 4.0/5.0
Book Links: Goodreads | Amazon
Book Description:
“New Year’s Resolutions:
1. Lloyd Layton will know I exist. He once said three whole words to me, so this is obviously progress. If I don’t get a proper conversation out of him soon, then I’ll take my top off and streak through the cafeteria, because nobody could fail to notice these boobs.
2. I will not get expelled for streaking through the cafeteria.”
Those are the words that begin her mission.
Chessie is fourteen, not pretty enough, and very much in love. Lloyd Layton is hot, popular, and unaware of Chessie’s existence.
Her goal is clear: to get Lloyd to love her as much as she loves him, and she has exactly one year to do it.
As Chessie’s obsession with Lloyd reaches boiling point and she starts to spin a web of lies that spiral out of control, Lloyd turns out to be not quite the prince she thought he was. Can Chessie avoid the gathering storm before things go too far?
MY REVIEW:

When I started this book, I was actually reading a completely different book to this. But I clicked on this on my kindle and the next thing I knew, I was already half way through!

I laughed so much in this book! It was seriously hilarious! I was LOL’ing so hard, it was unreal. The only other books that I have read that make me laugh out loud, are written by Sue Limb. I’m sure most have read the Zoe and Chloe books, the Charming but Insane, Girl 15 books… and Not Pretty Enough reminded me of them.

Chessie is absolutely bonkers mad! I loved it! So many mental things happened to her! At one point she even dyes her hair with food colouring…I mean….who on earth DOESN’T want to read about THAT? That’s not even the worst, cringe-worthy thing that happens to the poor girl!

I’ve mentioned that I KEEP reading mind numbing NA romances, but Not Pretty Enough was great because the main character Chessie, is fourteen and in school! Not UNI! SCHOOL! Yay! So refreshing to read something different for once!

I also liked that there was a moral to the story. Basically, you ARE pretty enough. But I don’t want to give too much away 😛

The one thing that I didn’t like was the swearing. There was a LOT of it for the main character to be fourteen. It just didn’t feel right. It might have been okay in a different sort of novel, but in my opinion, there was too much in Not Pretty Enough.

Overall, Not Pretty Enough is a hilarious read that will make you laugh out loud and, in some parts, cringe! There’s a good moral at the end of the story which we see so little in novels today. So yes, I would defiantly recommend!

EXCERPT:

There’s a common misconception that everyone wants big boobs. Let me tell you something: they don’t. If they’re fourteen and have a chest bigger than most of their school, including the teachers, they don’t. I’m a DD cup. People pay thousands of pounds to have their boobs enlarged to be smaller than mine. I can’t remember the last time I passed for a half fare on the bus. Or the last time a bus driver asked my face and not my chest for the fare. Everyone notices boobs when you’re my age. In fact, the only human in the world who doesn’t notice them is the one person I would quite like to notice them.

Lloyd Layton.

I’d quite like him to notice my personality too, but at this point just noticing my mere existence will do. If I have to use my boobs to lure him in, then so be it. The thing is, Lloyd Layton is hot, popular, and really, really tall. Taller than everyone else in our year. Taller than the teachers. Occasionally taller than the doorways. He knows what it’s like to be picked on for a physical attribute you can’t control. He’s different too. He knows what it’s like to be an outsider. Okay, when it comes to Lloyd Layton, he’s not really an outsider, because he’s absolutely gorgeous and loads of people like him, and I doubt anyone would dare to pick on him for anything because he could knock them flying with one swoop of his gigantic hands. But still. He’s taller than everyone and I have bigger boobs than everyone. We’re clearly a match made in heaven. It’s just a shame that he can’t see it yet.

But I’m sure he will one day soon.

I’m actually moving closer to that goal because he said one sentence to me back in December.

One sentence. Three small words. Not the three words I would like to hear him say, but I’ll take what I can get.

It was the last lesson of the last day of term before the Christmas holidays. Double technology. Not usually something to get excited about, but we came to the conclusion that the Christmas spirit had gone to Mr Vale’s head because he let us watch a movie in class instead of doing any work.

The Princess Bride.

We were allowed to pull chairs in around the TV and sit and watch a movie for two hours. Guess who pulled his chair in not that far away from mine?

Lloyd Layton.

I don’t know what happened next. I can’t explain it. It was like having an out of body experience. I’ll never understand how I had the courage to do it, but halfway through the film, I leaned over and said, “This is a good movie.” To Lloyd Layton. Better than that, he actually replied. He said, “Yes, it is.”

Three whole words.

It got even better than that again because after it was over and we were putting the chairs up on the desks, he smiled at me. A real smile. And it wasn’t at the person behind me because I was next to a wall. He smiled at me.

lovingBook Description:

Julian is drop-dead gorgeous, annoyingly provocative, and he’s fast becoming her best friend. But he also has a secret that makes the little hairs on her arms stand on end…

My name is Jona Montiniere, and that’s pretty much the only good thing to say about me.

I’m seventeen, I’m snarky, and I’m a crap-load of trouble. Or so they say. But what did they expect from me really, when they dumped me in an orphanage at age five? That I’d grow up to become the new first lady? Nah, I think it’s much more fun to raid Camden Market in London with my friend, Debby. She’s cool. She lives on the street. I learned so much from her.

The only thing she missed to teach me was how to tend to a vineyard. And yeah, that’s what I’m going to do for the next 6 weeks, courtesy to this darn judge, who sent me off to France after I was caught stealing again. Fair enough, the vineyards are okay, and so are my aunt and uncle, who I haven’t met up ‘til now. What isn’t okay, and I mean it, is that I have to live in the same house with my mother, that god-awful dragon, who spurned when I was only a child. And now she wants me back? Demands my forgiveness? Why, because she’s about to die of cancer? Uh-uh. Sorry, but that’s not gonna happen. I want no contact with that woman, thanks.

But what’s Julian got to do with all of this? About my age, he’s too young to be my mother’s lover. So why doesn’t he leave her side? Ever. He’s different, as in the paranormal kind of different, but he’s sa-woon-worthy gorgeous. He obviously has secrets, but he’s also get-under-my-skin charming. In short, he’s a riddle to me. But he likes me, and that’s scaring the shit out of me. I sure won’t let anyone come too close.

So now I’m wondering only two things: How did he manage to hold me in his arms after only three days? And how the hell do you keep an angel earth bound?

MY REVIEW:

I found Loving Your Lies to be a very short and sweet read, in which case, it deserves a short and sweet review!

LYL was very easy to read, I flew through the pages, eager to see what happened to Jona and her absent Mother. The first chapter starts off with Jona shop lifting and being sent away to her mother family in France as punishment.

She soon meets a boy…Julian. Personally, I thought that their romance started up a bit quick. It was like, “Oh…he’s Julian. I HATE him. Of COURSE, he’s my Mums lover. I LOVE HIM AND NEVER WANT HIM TO LEAVE.”

Nevertheless, it was sweet and spicy at the same time.

I didn’t think that the angel thing was brought to life as it should have been. I was half way through the book and Jona knew something was up…but wasn’t sure what. Seeing as it was only a 200+ book, perhaps it could have been embellished a tad more.

Overall, I was genuinely interested in reading more about Julian and Jona and her Mother and her French family! Yes, I would recommended it to…well….there isn’t really any specific type of reader that I would or wouldn’t recommend it to, so….if you like words….read Loving Your Lies!

The quick-and-dirty:
I’m a cool girl with a passion for writing.
The genres you’ll find me hanging out at are contemporary and paranormal YA, but I’m also snooping into some adult paranormal right now. All of them romances…of course.
The nitty-gritty:
I’m an Austrian lass—totally uncomplicated and up to anything fun.
I grew up in Vienna, not by free will but because my parents decided to move there when I was only 4 years old. I. Hated. The. City. Everything about it. So right after graduation I moved back to Upper Austria, where I settled down with a nice husband and an awesome laptop.
I’ve been a storyteller all my life. Already in kindergarten, I came up with the most exotic fantasies and tales. My teacher would call me a liar. I call it the cornerstone of my writing career.
People always told me you can’t make a living with being an author. So when my first novella PLAY WITH ME came out and shot straight to the stars within the first week, I was totally dumbstruck. Took me a while to realize what was happening, LOL.
And the personal stuff:
At the (awesome) age of seventeen, I met the love of my life. But he was a playboy, and I was so not going to be his next trophy. It took him another four years of fighting for me until I finally decided to give that “couple-thing” with him a shot. I’m now married to this man. 😉

We have an eleven-year-old son, and together we travel a lot…although I sometimes wish the trips were shorter because I can’t wait to get back to my laptop and my many stories. Unless we’re in Disneyland. No stress to go home then…

Book Description:

When life hands you lemons, sometimes you have to say screw the lemons and bail.

Seventeen-year-old Bentley Evans had it all. Then her Dad got laid off.

Now she has to move across town to a small apartment and leave her life of luxury for public school and a job at the local burger place. Just when her world seems like it’s crumbling she finds solace in the unlikely punk boy next door, Kai Stone. But as their relationship blossoms, a jealous ex-girlfriend and a secret to tell that threatens to bring disaster back into Bentley’s life.

READ AN EXCERPT:

“You know I’m pretty sure that all that’s involved in high school dancing is just dry humping and swaying back and forth,” I said as Kai helped me move my parent’s couch back.

“Well, I don’t want to dry hump or just sway back and forth,” he said with a big grin on his face before setting the couch down.

“We don’t have to do this right now either. It’s a Sunday morning and all.” I walked over to the front of the couch, not taking my eyes off of him.

“Homecoming is Saturday, and the only dance I know is the Hokey Pokey.” He shrugged. “Besides Mom and my sisters are at small group and your parents can sleep through anything, so why not now?”

“Okay.” I let out a deep breath and opened my computer. “But you really didn’t take any kind of dance classes? I had ballroom dancing freshman year in gym.”

“Bentley, I’ve gone to public school all of my life. The only dance we ever learned was line dancing when I was in grade school up in Wisconsin, and I’m not doing that at Homecoming.” He laughed.

I started up the song and set my laptop down and stepped in front of Kai, putting my right hand up toward him. “I definitely don’t think there will be line dancing at Homecoming,” I said, putting my hand in his.

“And you make fun of my music?” Kai asked as the song crooned through the speakers on my laptop. I put Kai’s right hand on my hip, and then placed my left hand on his upper arm.

“This is Sinatra, I really don’t think there is anything to be making fun of, and besides I don’t think we could really do ballroom dancing to punk rock.”

“I’m sure we could try.” He smiled and kissed my forehead.

I rolled my eyes. “Okay,  now that we have the arm position it’s time to move our feet, and if you step on my bare feet I am going to punch you.”

He playfully hovered his foot over mine, so I pinched his arm. “If you don’t behave then I’m switching the music to country.”

He let out a big sarcastic sigh. “Fine.”

“Okay, so left foot then right foot then together,” I said as we moved in unison.

“Then right foot goes back and then the left foot meets it.”

We moved together doing a few box steps. It felt kind of silly to be dancing in my pajamas in the living room.

“You know, I really don’t think that anyone is going to be doing the waltz at Homecoming,” I muttered

I looked up to see him mouthing ‘left, right, together’.

“Well what do people usually do then?” He looked down at me and stopped mouthing the words.

The Sinatra song ended and a slower punk rock song played, one that Kai had actually put on my computer.

“Usually…” I put both my arms around his neck. “It’s kind of more of a close, swaying motion.”

“Oh.” He wrapped his long arms around my waist and pulled me as close as I think two people can get when one was over six foot and the other was barely over five foot three.

“Like this?” He swayed slowly back and forth.

“Usually it’s not some sort of a giant dancing with a midget.” I laughed.

“Fine then.” He bent at his knees and picked me up off of the ground, so that my legs were dangling in the air while he continued to sway back and forth. “Is that better, shorty?”

I wrapped my bare legs around his waist. “Now it is.”

I leaned in and ran my tongue along his bottom lip, tracing the lines of his lip ring.

“I don’t think that’s part of the waltz.” He smiled and pressed his forehead to mine.

“It is now.” I kissed him, pretty hard, since he fell back into the couch with me still in his arms.

Maybe I should have taken him up on the night alone instead of Homecoming. It felt so good to just be in his arms, and the kissing wasn’t so bad either. I could forget about the world every time that Kai kissed me. It was like his lip piercing had some kind of magical powers that just made all my problems disappear as long as we were kissing.

Magan Vernon is a Young Adult and New Adult writer who lives with her family in the insurance capital of the world. She is in a very serious, fake relationship with Adam Lambert and constantly asks her husband to wear guyliner. He still refuses. She also believes her husband is secretly an alien, disguised as a southern gentleman.

AND HERE IS MY INTERVIEW WITH MAGAN!

Writing Questions:

What inspired Life, Love & Lemons? It was 2010 and I was deep in the hunt for a home for my New Adult book that nobody wanted back them (You can’t sell college aged characters they said), so my friend gave me the idea to write a book about a girl who has everything and then her dad gets laid off so they have to move to a crummy apartment. I said it was stupid and then wrote it and fell in love with it.

How often do you write? I try every single day during my lunch hour at work and before bed.

How long did it take to write Life, Love & Lemons? 3 weeks on the first draft and editing took a few years because it was shelved for awhile.

Have you always enjoyed writing? Sometimes writing can be a chore. Okay, editing is a chore and so is writer’s block.

Do you listen to music when you write? If so, what? I make a Pandora playlist for every one of my books. This one had a lot of Plus 44.

What kind of books do you like to read? Has this effected the type of

books you like to write? I love New Adult right now. My first book I ever wrote was actually a horrible legal thriller and while I love reading legal thrillers, I can’t write them for the life of me.

Fun Questions!

If Life, Love & Lemons was made into a movie, who would you cast as

the main characters? I think Jordan Pruitt would make a great Bentley and possibly Drake Bell for Kai.

If you could meet any author, dead or alive, who would it be and why? This is a hard one. I actually get to meet Chelsea M. Cameron in December and I’m uber excited because she is my Twitter wife and critique partner and I just love talking to her online.

Favourite type of fizzy drink? (Or any drink if you don’t drink fizzy things.) How can I choose just one? My husband got a Soda Stream for father’s day (to make homemade soda), so I seem to have a new homemade soda every day

Do you have any advice for aspiring authors out there? Don’t’ give up. It sucks some days. People will get published that have books you think are terrible. People will become best sellers before you. But as long as you keep pushing and never stop loving it you will get there.

Would you like to say anything to your readers? I love all of you. Thank you so much for taking a chance and picking up my books.

And lastly, do you have any other exciting projects coming up? (That

you can tell us about lol )

What don’t I have coming up? For sure I have The Only One (the companion to The Only Exception) coming October 15th and November 1st is my Christmas Novella (Off The Market) with the 12 NA’s of Christmas. Then hopefully something in January J

Immortals by Ednah Walters
Series: Runes #2
Publication date: August 5th 2013
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance

Book Links: Goodreads | Amazon  | B&Nimmortals

Book Description:

Nothing can stop Raine Cooper when she wants something…
Raine finally knows that her gorgeous neighbor, Torin St. James, is a legend straight out of Norse mythology, and that her feelings for him are strong. Torin is crazy about Raine too, breaking the one rule he lives by: Never fall for a mortal. The problem is he no longer remembers her, his memories erased by Norns—Norse destiny deities—to punish her for defying them.

So Raine comes up with a plan…
She will make Torin forget his one rule a second time and fall in love with her all over again.
But she quickly learns that well-laid plans do not work when dealing with deities and supernatural beings. Desperate, Raine makes choices that could not only tear her and Torin further apart, but lead to the destruction of everything and everyone she loves.

MY REVIEW:

This review is going to be super quick because it’s 6 in the morning and I gotta get to college!

I remember enjoying Runes and I just checked out My Review to see what I thought of it, to refresh my memory!

In Immortals, Torrin has had his memories wiped and can’t remember Lorraine or their relationship. Straight away Raine assumes that every woman Torrin comes into contact with, has some sort of relationship with him.

Which, yeah, you would wonder wouldn’t you? But did she have to go on about it all the time?

Except for that small point I really enjoyed it and would glad read Runes and Immortals again! I would recommend this, once again, to lovers of the Lux series by Jennifer Armentrout and if you love paranormal with some bad ass moves…Immortals is for you!

Giveaway& Excerpt: American Girl on Saturn by Nikki Godwin [Book Blitz]

American Girl On Saturn
Release Date: 08/24/13
Summary from Goodreads:
The summer
after graduation is supposed to be that first real taste of freedom – but not
for eighteen-year-old Chloe Branson. Just as that breeze of freedom is making
its way into her galaxy, her secret-service-agent dad drops a meteor-sized bomb
of bad news on her and her sisters. An attempt has been made on the lives of
Canadian boyband, Spaceships Around Saturn, during their USA tour, and the guys
have to go into hiding ASAP. The only problem? In the midst of the crisis and
media frenzy, their dad volunteered to hide the guys…in their house.
Six-year-old Emery is as ecstatic as any self-proclaimed Saturnite would be,
but Chloe and her seventeen-year-old sister Aralie watch their summer plans
crash and burn like a falling star. The SAS guys aren’t happy with the situation,
either. Bad boy Jules picks fights with Aralie about everything from his
Twitter followers to his laundry, and heart-throb Benji can’t escape Emery’s
fangirlisms for more than three minutes. But after the super-cute Milo kisses Chloe during a game of hide-and-seek, she
finally understands what Emery means when she talks about SAS being “out
of this world.” If this is what Saturn feels like, Chloe doesn’t want to
come back to Earth.

EXCERPT:

He reaches toward the tray and grabs the lone Oreo. “Okay, this is my last one for the night,” he says. “Half it with me?”

Seriously? If I wasn’t the envy of every Saturnite in the world just by sitting across the table from him, I’m definitely the envy of them now because the Milo Grayson wants to half his precious Oreo with me. And the thing that sucks the most is that no one knows about it to be jealous of me!

He holds the cookie up and waits for a response.

“Yeah, we can half it,” I say.

I reach across the table for it, but he jerks his arm back. The sleeve of his T-shirt hugs his bicep tightly, and oh how I wish to be that fabric.

“Not so fast,” he says. “Let’s make it interesting.”

Could this be any more interesting? Hello – you’re gorgeous and famous and sharing cookies with me! Any more ‘interest’ and I might burst like a firework.

“If you get the side with the cream, I’ll give you my honest male opinion about your checkout line drama today,” he says. “But if I get the cream side, you have to tell me, honestly, who you think the best looking guy is in Spaceships Around Saturn.”

Oh God. He’s for real. Does he know? He totally knows. He knows I’m lusting for him from behind this glass of milk and tattoo magazine. He knows that his eyes make me melt and that I clearly watch him on Twitter because I know all about amazzzzzing. Now he wants to make me ‘fess up.

“Deal.” I say it before I can chicken out.

I can always lie and say Benji’s name. He’s the fan favorite anyway. Benji Baccarini is Spaceships Around Saturn for so many girls.

He leans forward, positions himself over the table, and holds up that fated Oreo. I push my glass of milk aside because the last thing I want is to knock it over with my quivering nerves. Then I lean toward him, grip the cookie with my fingers, and inhale every scent of his body wash that I can while I twist my half of the Oreo away from his half.
